goodGiving prides itself on designing, hosting, and getting involved in fundraising efforts and events that not only provide amazing memories for participants, but more importantly, contribute to sustainable development projects focused on education.

Whether it’s a used book sale,  a special event (i.e. annual Halloween events, Christmas events, dinner parties), or an information session, goodGiving is continually seeking out dynamic and interesting ways to raise much needed funding for numerous project initiatives.

We value your input and insight and would love to hear suggestions on potentially viable projects.    Better yet, we request  your participation in  the next goodGiving event. Please check out the Volunteer section of our website to get involved today!

Here are some examples of goodGiving’s fundraising initiatives:

1.Bike for Books

Our premiere annual cycling event takes participants through the heart of the Rocky Mountains on what has been claimed “the world’s most scenic highway”. Cycling the Ice Fields Parkway from Banff to Jasper is 5 exhilarating days of mountain highs and vistas of unparalleled grandeur. Participants raise pledges for each of the 290 km, which in turn is donated to grassroots educational development organisations around the world. Have the time of your life while contributing to positive global change!

 2. Halloween Murder Mystery

Each year on Hallow’s Eve spooksters and sleuthsters unite to rack their brains and solve some of the most titillating mysteries ever to take place in the city of Calgary.

For more information on this years event, check out  www.halloweenmystery.com

3. Seasonal book sales

Throughout the year, goodGiving collects used books and sells them at various events with the  objective of raising money to fill libraries in communties in need. Recently, portable library projects have caught our attention, with the ability to offer new locally written and produced books to entire communities on a rotational basis. Portable libraries have the ability to reach thousands of students that are thirsting for things to read!

4. Grandma’s Penny Jar

It amazes me that something with so little significance to us can have such a positive impact on the other side of the world.” -Grandma

Grammas penny jar is an idea spawned from the mind of Grandma. While most of us have a hoard of pennies hiding somewhere in the house, it is unlikely that  we will ever get around to rolling them,. Why not give those pennies to Grandma, who along with her friends, have the time and enjoy playing a role in contributing to children’s education overseas.  If you would like to set up a collection jar of your own at the office or at home, please contact us and we will send you a decorative label for your jar!

Halloween's Huge!

This years Halloween Murder Event was a huge success raising money for three great organisations: Ripple Africa (Malawi), Global Village Foundation (Vietnam), and Calgary's own, Breast Cancer Supportive Care.  A HUGE thanks to those who made it such a fun success, and we hope to see you next year!

Special thanks to Bellstar Resorts, and Bookers BBQ & Crabshack for some phenominal prizes.  Much appreciated!
